Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is concentrated from your blood, providing plasma that is rich in platelets and growth factors that stimulate a stem cell response. This stem cell response improves the skin’s integrity by stimulating the growth of new collagen and blood vessels to repair and revitalize damaged skin. PRP treatments can rejuvenate the skin to address fine lines, uneven skin tone, scarring, acne, hyperpigmentation and can help in slowing down and reversing the signs of aging. The benefits of one treatment can last up to two years as the skin continues to remodel.
PRP Facial Rejuvenation uses the PRP in conjunction with a MicroPen. The MicroPen is an Epidermal Micro-Exfoliation device used to stimulate the tissue and improve the appearance of the skin. The procedure is performed in a safe and precise manner utilizing the Turbo Safety Cartridge, a sterile micro-exfoliation component. The procedure is typically completed in 30-60 minutes. The treatment time can vary based on the required treatment and anatomical site being treated.
Platelet rich plasma, or PRP, is extracted from your blood and contains three to five times more platelets than the normal concentration of platelets in your blood. Platelets are the smallest of the blood cells, but pack a powerful punch in the form of growth factors and proteins involved in tissue healing. PRP has been used for years in sports medicine for muscle and tendon injuries, wound healing, joint damage, surgical repair and more. This revolutionary therapy is now being used as a safe and effective way to revitalize skin by using the body’s own organic material thus minimizing adverse reactions and recovery time.

A 15 minute visit ($25 charge which will be applied toward prp facial) is required before a patient can be seen for their PRP Facial to not only answer questions about the procedure and go over what to expect while healing, but to do a short medical history to assure patient is a candidate for procedure. There are some contraindications for PRP treatment including certain auto immune conditions, keloid scars, and acute rashes and these should be discussed prior to procedure day.
