Pacific Pearl La Jolla Celebrates Naturopathic Medicine Week
Celebrate with us the first year of the official Naturopathic Medicine Week!
The American Association of Naturopathic Physicians established this important week to increase awareness and understanding of naturopathic medicine. Today, there are just 6,000 naturopathic doctors (NDs) in the United States, compared to nearly 1,000,000 medical doctors. We have three naturopathic doctors here at Pacific Pearl La Jolla, all of whom have completed post-degree residencies.
Naturopathic medicine is a comprehensive system of health that aims to restore and optimize health by promoting the body’s own inherent ability to heal with the use of natural therapies. NDs often seek the source of disease in the gut and in the stress response.
Naturopathic doctors have extensive training in natural therapeutics that include clinical nutrition, herbal medicine, dietary, lifestyle, and fitness counseling, homeopathy, naturopathic bodywork, IV nutritional therapies, and physical medicine. They specialize in gut health and the stress response as both cause disease.
The naturopathic doctors at Pacific Pearl La Jolla have chosen to practice in an integrative setting to include a full spectrum of care from prevention to the treatment of acute and chronic disease. We have discovered that collaboration improves patient satisfaction, optimizes clinical outcomes, and provides for the most comprehensive understanding of health and disease.
